George Albert Kendall Jr, 91, passed away September 12, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1926 in Malden, Massachusetts to George Albert Kendall Sr. and Anna Nelson Kendall.

George began his military career in the Army Air Corps as an in-flight engineer on B-24's. In 1944 he entered the U.S. Air Force and continued the same job. In 1948 while stationed in Sherman, Texas, he met and married Lometa Henley. Together they raised one daughter and three sons. He was honorably discharged in 1971 as a...

George Albert Kendall Jr, 91, passed away September 12, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1926 in Malden, Massachusetts to George Albert Kendall Sr. and Anna Nelson Kendall.

George began his military career in the Army Air Corps as an in-flight engineer on B-24's. In 1944 he entered the U.S. Air Force and continued the same job. In 1948 while stationed in Sherman, Texas, he met and married Lometa Henley. Together they raised one daughter and three sons. He was honorably discharged in 1971 as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving his country for 27 years. The family retired in Glendale, Arizona where he went to work for the city as an equipment maintenance specialist from 1972-1989. George followed in his father's footsteps and became a Mason in 1952 with the Free and Accepted Masons at the Mason Lodge 926 in Selma, Alabama. He received his 50 year certificate as a Master Mason in 2002. His wife Lometa passed away in 2009, and in 2011 he married Joyce Emery with whom he had 6 happy years. George loved fishing and making things from wood. If anything broke or quit working, he could fix it. He was an excellent mechanic, having learned the trade by working in his father's garage business as a youngster.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lometa, and a son, Dana Kendall. He is survived by his wife Joyce Kendall, daughter Penny Brookes (Tom), sons Charles Kendall (Joanne), David Kendall (KimRae), brother Robert Kendall, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 W. Northern Avenue in Glendale with a funeral service immediately following at 10:00AM. George will be laid to rest with military honors at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale.
